Dr. Mwape went to several primary schools in Ndola but completed primary education at Kambowa Primary School in Ndola rural. He did part of his secondary school at Tug-Agan and Mansa Secondary School respectively and later Munali Secondary school. Dr. Mwape has been a disability rights activist for over 17 years and is the former Director General for the Zambia Agency for Persons with Disabilities (ZAPD) and a Commissioner appointed by the President in both the Mungomba Commission and the National Constitutional Conference.
He holds a Bachelors of Social Work degree from the College of Professional Management (COPM) UK, a Bachelor of Public Administration from COPM-USA, a Master of Public Administration from COPM-USA, a PhD in Disability Management and Development, a PhD in Public Administration from the College of Professional Management, a Post-Graduate Diploma M and E from Cavendish University Zambia, a Bachelor of Law Degree (LLB) from Cavendish University Zambia and a Master of Social Work from Cavendish University Zambia and Master of Science in Leadership Peace and Conflict Resolution from University of Zambia.
